What to Expect at Yoga
It's a little scary to go into a new environment, so here's a little guide on what to expect when you have the courage to step on your mat!
Our classes are purposely small so that you can focus on your breath work and poses, but we are also here to have fun together-- To share in each other's journey, laugh and joyful.
What to Wear?
Stepping on your mat is hard enough, no one wants to worry about what to wear. So, wear whatever is comfortable to YOU! Seriously, you can do yoga in your jeans if you wish.
What to Bring?
While you are always welcome to bring your own items such as mat, blocks, straps- we also have all those things available for use while you practice.
We want you to begin listening to your body, bringing awareness to your inner self.
Sometimes music or noises can be a distraction from the work at hand. It can trigger a negative reaction for some or bring an old memory to the surface that doesn't allow for clearing the mind; therefore we refrain from playing music or sounds during most classes.
We recognize many people have severe allergies or are highly sensitive to smells, so we choose not to use candles, oils, incense, or diffusers.
We even invested in an Alen Ion Air Purifier. This scrubs the entire center 5 times an hour, allowing the air to be clean and free of pollens, molds, viruses, and smells.
To sock or not to sock, that is the question!!
And one only YOU can answer!
We have no preference, so it's your choice. Some love the feel of socks on the mat.
There are even yoga socks that help from sliding on a mat.
Or you can be barefoot on the mat.
Totally up to YOU!!
Because we are bringing awareness to the body and mind, you may notice new sensations.
The body holds onto stress, trauma and emotions until we release them through the practice. You may experience crying, laughter, relief, lightness, and more. These are all beautiful (and OK) sensations to have during yoga class. Allow them to come without judgements.
Ready for you
But Can I do Yoga?
Yes, You Can!
Yes!! You Can!!!! We practice a gentle Hatha Yoga that everyone with every body type can enjoy! We are also trained to adapt and use our blocks when needed and will assist you. Yoga is primarily about the Breath, so if you can breathe, you can do yoga!
Cleaning with Lysol products happens after each class! Mats, floors, blocks, door handles, you name it-we clean it!
